January

Winter Light

After all the festivities and twinkly lights of Christmas, January knocks at the door. A mixed blessing perhaps. A brand new year, a blank canvas to begin again and make plans of all kinds. January, a stark month where everything has gone to ground. Waiting for life to come back again, to see the sun, the light and the spring flowers emerge.  It will come soon enough.
We have been enjoying the stillness and quiet of woodland walks, so beautiful at this time of the year.  And then some great fun and frivolity; a pantomime to cheer our winter hearts. This one had a rather scary rat with a very deep voice. My little girl hid her face every time he walked on stage!
